LED Bulbs & BLDC Fans
From Training to Trade
Two hands-on training programs that turn people into skilled technicians — and give them a way to earn from it. Mithrakulam trains people to manufacture and repair energy-efficient LED lighting and BLDC fans, opening up self-employment to anyone willing to learn, regardless of background.
LED Bulb Manufacturing & Repair
You'll learn:
- The basics — voltage, current, resistance, circuit reading, and how to use a multimeter
- How to assemble LED bulbs, tube lights, and downlights from raw parts: PCB plates, LED chips, drivers, heat sinks, casings
- How LED drivers and transformers work, and how to convert AC power into stable DC
- Chip-level repair — tracing faults, fixing circuit boards, replacing burnt chips or capacitors
- Electrical safety — insulation, anti-static handling, and safe testing practices
BLDC Fan Manufacturing & Assembly
Brushless DC (BLDC) fans run on a fraction of the power a normal fan uses. Mithrakulam trains people to build them from scratch.
What makes these fans different:
- Run on 28–35W, compared to around 75W for a standard fan — up to 60% less power
- No mechanical brushes, so less friction, noise, wear, and heat
- Smart electronic drivers manage speed and remote-control inputs smoothly
- Work well with inverters and solar power, thanks to a low, stable power draw
You'll learn:
- Assembling the motor — aligning magnets and coils inside the stator and rotor
- Soldering, testing, and installing the electronic driver boards
- Balancing fan blades so they run smoothly without wobbling
- Testing every unit for safety and power consumption before it's ready to sell
Beyond the Workbench
- Guidance on sourcing parts affordably and pricing your work
- Support for starting a home-based repair or manufacturing business
- Encouragement to form self-help groups or cooperatives for shared marketing and buying power
